Twin flames

So far, we’ve covered Romantic Soul Mates and Twin Souls.

Soul mates are those who you resonate with on the same levels, and there may be many of them in your life.

Twin Souls are literally the other half of your energies, but also everything you are not. While drawn together, they may not be a good match.

This entry, we will look at twin flames.

How is a twin flame different? Unlike a twin soul, it is not actually your other half and unlike a soul mate, it is not someone who you happen to match your energies with.

A twin flame is someone who is from the same source as you. They are, in essence, soul family.

On a soul level, they may be equivalent to a brother or a sister. On the 3D level, they might be a stranger that you’ve just met, but instantly click with.

When you meet a twin soul, you will know it. You will feel that connection and kinship. It may even stir up previous life memories that you had together.

The relationship may not be a romantic one (though there will be times when you certainly would desire that energy to be in your life intimately) but it will certainly be one where you have found a person who can understand you and accept you for you without conditions.

Family soul mates

These are people who come from the same soul family. There can be many, and they will feel more like a brother, sister, son, daughter, uncle, aunt, and so on.

It is certainly not unusual for group of such people to be born into the same family. They will move and act as one unit when it’s them against the world, but it would not be unusual for them to fight among themselves, too.

I’ve come across people who have felt like sons and daughters, and who have viewed me in the equivalent way. It’s a very interesting experience to say the least.

Gary I was also born into a family I have no connection with except with my mother. If I haven’t seen them in years and I must confess I don’t want to see them ever again. it will take me three min in their company and there will be an emotional war. I still don’t know why I was born in that famliy but I only know that the hate I use to experience from them had a very deep impact on me being so completely different from them. The one sister believe I was swopped by birth but I was born at home so that was not possible.

  There’s always a reason we are born into a family. Even if we don’t get along with them. Sometimes they help in our awakening, other times they give up something in our make up that we need for this life.

This was so interesting to read Gary as my husband of six years and I had this weird feeling that we were really brother and sister. I am of British background and he is Italian so our cultures are different but there was just this feeling that maybe he had been my bother in a past life. Is this a normal occurrence or just plain weird?

I’d heard of all these terms before (soul mate, twin soul/flame)….your posts clarified each one with examples -thanks. Overall, I prefer the Celtic term anam-cara = soul friend.

Can family soul mates actually come from the same family? My brother and I are just like twins, except born a couple of years apart. We do freaky stuff like say the exact same thing at the exact same time in the exact same tone of voice, usually very random sort of stuff. We sort of jump and out of each others’ heads and can often tell what the other is really thinking. It doesn’t always happen. There are lots of things we don’t know about each other but it is very peculiar when it does happen and makes the rest of our family wonder what is going on. He is also the one person I don’t really feel anxious around, he somehow calms down my anxiety.

  Yes, they certainly can come from the same family. There are no real can and can’ts. It’s more a matter of what has been agreed on (and what goals you’ve set, too.).

I can say with candid certainty that my own humanly brothers and sister are not in my soul family. I am assuming that this is more common than many realize. I have felt stronger twin flame connections with individuals I’m not related to by blood, which makes the saying “blood is thicker than water” null and void in my case in some ways.

  That say, incidentally, has nothing to do with family. It’s to do with war, and the spilling of blood, that bonds those fighting together.
  
  Funny how such things get misunderstood over the years.
  
  Sometimes you can be born into a different soul family for other purposes. I certainly know I was. Apart from my mother, I never felt part of my family, and they never treated me as though I was one of them.

    I am born into another soul family too. But I find that the family thing on this level is whomever fits your belief systems the closets at pre-life here. At least that is my experience though I am learning they don’t work for me anymore
