A question that comes up a lot for me is how do you speak to your guides? Can you communicate with them telepathically? What are the signs? How do you hear your guides in your mind? In this two part series, we look at ways that guides may communicate with us.
Repeated Short Messages
One type of communication, that I have always gotten, comes in the form of repeated short messages.
These are often just a few words that are repeated over and over again, until I finally understand them.
There is no time limit on them. Some of my messages have been going on since the 80s and show no signs of slowing down.
I have never quite identified the source of them, but they are what I call the ‘pure’ messages.
They can’t be stopped. They happen anytime there is a ‘quiet’ moment. It’s like someone put them on a tape loop.
I find they mostly come through when I’m walking or not thinking of anything in particular.
According to my own guides, they are messages I set up for myself before I was incarnated. Apparently, my orders were to never stop playing them until I fully understood them.
Whether it’s my higher self or other spirit guides sending them, I am not quite sure.
I hope it’s automatic, though, as I can’t imagine the tedium involved in repeating the same messages over and over, minute after minutes, day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year and decade after decade.
For those who are interested, I’ll give a few examples of such messages that I’ve received over the years.
Who are you? (Received all during the 80s to the mid 90s)
When you become love, love becomes you. (Was mostly during the 80s and 90s)
Do you know who we are? (90s and 00’s. Finally stopped when I worked out who my guides were)
Love is a heart factor. (Mostly 90s)
You have no idea how powerful you really are. (Never really stops)
And the one that never goes away: You are The Phoenix.
That message happens, every moment, of every day. Clearly there is more I need to still learn about this subject.
Sometimes, along with the short ones, I will get longer messages.
They may come across as someone giving a warning or a word of advice. Sometimes it will be encouragement. Other times it will be a comment on my current situation.
During my earlier years, I would always get the message: You’re almost there and Soon!
I felt they were telling me that sooner or later I would get to a point where my life would finally take off.
I was very skeptical, though, but they were right. Just that, ‘soon’ ended up being about five or six years!
Another example, that happened recently, was when I parked in a supermarket carpark and went to a café to give a session to a friend of mine. It took a couple of hours, and when I returned, my car had got a parking ticket as the parking sign was only for an hour.
Personally, I found this ridiculous. Did this area not want my business? Plus, I wasn’t sure if it wasn’t a scam. So, I decided to wait and see if I got an official notice. I did.
I found myself annoyed and came up with a plausible plan to get out of the fine. (Which had a very high chance of working.)
Just Pay It
However, my guides said to me that I should just pay it, as I knew that there was a one hour parking limit and I knew I had gone over it. Even if I wasn’t expecting the fines to be enforced in an off-street parking area, I had made an agreement by parking where I parked. They also said that they would make sure I got the money back.
The fine was around one hundred dollars. As I couldn’t argue with their logic, I just paid the fine.
The next day, I was with a family member, and for no apparent reason, he said: Here, have an extra one hundred dollars.
I had to say, I was impressed. (Though, I had been through so much with my spirit guides, I was not surprised. Just very impressed.)
Then there are actual conversations that are very much like talking to another person in my thoughts.
To be very clear. These are not voices in my head. They are thoughts that come into my mind without any effort on my part.
I’ve had these all my life and I can’t turn them off, even if I wanted to. (Though, I’m sure drugs, such as antidepressants, would do it, but why would I want to?)
This has always felt normal and natural to me. It’s a very easy way for me to get information about subject matters I might have no clue about.
It took me some practice to get the technique down of writing what I heard. Surprisingly, when you introduce a physical act, such as typing, it creates a disconnect until you get used to doing it.
Fortunately, I’ve always been a touch typist, so after a little practice, this method came effortlessly.
It’s also how I was able to obtain information on subject matter that was not available, such as how Bach Flower Remedies actually work and why we respond so well to them.
Generally, I’ve always found the conversations engaging and illuminating.
People often will ask me: What do your guides say? The interesting thing about this is that it doesn’t work that way. If I try and force a conversation or message, nothing comes. It’s just radio silence.
In fact, the harder you try, the more you block it.
The key is to ask the question and the answer will come through when it’s either time, or your mind is in that space for receiving it.
For me, the time varies for when I get answers. It might be anywhere from minutes to weeks. I find that, for the more complex questions, it can take a while as it’s possible that certain events need to be put into place first.
The point here is, you can’t force a response. It’s not like I can type the questions into a search engine and get the answers. I just know that I get what I need, when I need it.
This might sound contradictory to me saying I can channel them to write my books, however I find that I’m in a different mindset with that. I’m not feeling under pressure to give an answer, especially one that I’m not supposed to give or one that the asker may not like the answer to.
In the next entry, we will look at the type of guides there are, and the dos and don’ts of dealing with them.
