Empath Series: Support networks or where can I go to find others like me?

empath logo short

One of the most difficult things about being an empath is the feeling of isolation and loneliness.

Most people you tell may not understand.

They may either think you’re crazy, dismiss you as a freak or look at your blankly, wondering what the heck you’re talking about. Some will even denounce you as working with the devil. For some bizarre reason, this natural state of being seems to be an abomination and sin in some cultures and religions. (And you could do a series of topics on this, but I’m not going to get into it today.)

Worse still is the feeling and doubt that you, yourself, might really be crazy.

A support network is something that could help a lot. Though, the web has a few groups that cater for other empaths, they are not always active and some of the people are not even empaths. I certainly think the time has come to start such a network.

One day, I imagine a worldwide empath support network with charters in every country. We’re not there yet, but I believe it will happen.

This blog is dedicated to the free sharing of information of being an empath and subjects in all their forms.

Some topics you will like and relate to. Some you won’t. That’s just the nature of blogs.

Also there are various chat rooms that are geared towards the psychic side where you will find other empaths.

The good thing about being an empath is that distance doesn’t make any difference. You can be on the other side of the world and your connection will be just as strong. So a support group is much easier to create than you might first think.

For now, I’m going to share some of the resources I’ve come across in recent times, but please, if you know more, feel free to add them in the comments. (And I will try and include them in this post.)

You can help by sharing this information, including this blog.

  1. I’ve been repeatedly wounded for much of my life, damaged physically, fiscally, and psychically, by many, many people who presented themselves to me as honestly wanting to help me. The professionals, the counselors and mental health professionals did the most damage. Its only been in the last few years (out of 65) that I’ve come to fully recognize who I am and what things I can do with these gifts. By the by I’ve also come to realize that anybody who is determined to help me has a weakness of their own that they are shielding by reaching out to me, and so I can protect myself and shield myself from such individuals, commonly they don’t run their own lives very successfully.
Empathy can be an extremely wonderful gift, once a person discovers a love and harmony with creation which goes deeper and stronger than the storms of emotions on the surface. I wish and pray the best for all of you ….

  2. I’m placing this entry on your “Support Network” page. May I refer you to http://www.rose-rosetree.com a website by one of the most well-known empaths in the world. I am sure that you and those on this site will enjoy her book, “Become the Most Important Person in the Room”-one of her many books. Rose published the first book in English for empaths, “Empowered by Empathy” (now being completely rewritten and revised and due for publication next year. Also, she has the only trademarked system in America for empaths: Empath Empowerment® (I copied an article from her current newsletter to the home page since it explains various types of Empaths.)

  3. Me too! I run into parallels in WordPress all the time. It’s so heartwarming to know I have all these people here who don’t judge me. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad conversation on here! This post is soooo how I felt and still feel a lot of the time. I was just saying how I thought I was losing my mind and I thought I had all kinds of things wrong with me. Looking back, I should have known; I had plenty of experiences as a kid, but somehow blocked it for the most part. But when you really have to tell yourself that nothing is wrong with you in that sense, you just have another thing that will be considered wrong. I have confided in friends and family with this stuff and I get “the look”. They are trying to decide if I am crazy or not. I can’t blame them – I was crazy until not that long ago.

    1. I observe this exeellcnt injustice happened within my relationship. Its a 1-time factor however i am very affected and totally unhappy because of it. I must bring this condition track of my partner, however i know that it’ll damage the connection as your partner is very sensitive. I value this relationship a great deal. What’s the best factor to complete? Could it be worth to confront and spoil the connection?

  4. I feel like some topics are running a little parallel with my blog. Sharing is the start of making connections. Cheers!
